Dr. Travis Witherington is a father of four and fully enjoys life with his wife, Mary, a certified orthotist. Trained as a chemical engineer, he graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and completed his Surgery internship and residency at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Thereafter, Dr. Witherington was on active duty as a Major with the United States Air Force. He came to practice in Oak Ridge in 1976.

Dr. Witherington is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and enjoys learning about new technologies and innovative practices. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and Tennessee Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Witherington's personal interests include aviation, martial arts, amateur radio, sailing, and scuba. Dr. Witherington has an Airline Transport Pilot License and is a certified flight instructor and FAA Aviation Safety Counselor.
